R. E. Daffan, Inc. has been a long time supporter of the Transitional Housing BARN, having built their facility in 2000.  Bill Daffan is currently serving as chairman of the BARN Board of Directors.  The annual "Festival of Trees" fundraising even was held on November 13, 2010.

The following excerpt was taken from the News and Messenger newspaper:

Housing BARN Inc. nets $40K at Festival of Trees

Transitional Housing BARN, Inc., in Bristow, conducted its 12th annual Festival of Trees Gala recently at the Westin Washington Dulles hotel, netting more than $40,000 for BARN programs to support homeless women and their dependent children.

Money raised during the "Raise the Paddle" appeal will go towards BARN's "Cars for Moms" campaign.

"We are located in Bristow, away from major bus routes.  The women in the program need reliable vehicles to go to work, to take their children to and from daycare, and many of the women take additional classes to improve their employment skills.  Their vehicles are older and need repair to keep them safely on the road," said Colin Davis, executive director of BARN.
